This is what Liam says if you roll down his window (after he has begged for a couple miles – two years olds…)
But it is also what happened to us today!
The pumphouse shed managed to blow right between the Airstream trailer and the Dodge.
It used to house the irrigation equipment and live here overlooking the pond.
It has seen better days! Thankfully it did no damage on its way here.
Let’s start with a gorgeous and delicious breakfast.
Liam and his buddy Reed enjoyed complimentary pancakes.
Elda and Liam sat on Santa’s lap
Awesome way to greet Christmas! Thank you Brasada Ranch!
They see me rollin!
Bikes have always been a big part of my life, i love them. It is so fun to hop on a bike, it always makes my day better. The freedom, the speed, the low tech, low pollution transportation that also gives me just enough exercise to feel healthier.
Now we have 2 small children and live out in the country.
A cargo bike was attractive to me because of the people and stuff we like to haul around BUT it would be hard to haul the bike on a small car. I was not into the idea of a trailer because it too, would require disassembly to haul in a small car. A trailer means that the contents [our children] are not a part of the riding experience, it also means that you are wider; not to mention how hard it is physically.
I ended up buying a “mini-van” of bikes, the Yuba Boda Boda from Bend Electric Bikes and just love it. The Boda Boda is only about 8 inches longer than a regular bike so it easily fits on a rack on any car. We live out of town so I haul it often.
This was us on the 4th of July in Bend Oregon’s Pet Parade. The Boda Boda is a cruiser style so it is COMFORTABLE to ride. So much so that it was easy for me to ride even 8 months pregnant with a Jack Russell Terrier and a 2 year old boy aboard in a slow moving parade.
Annie the Parsons Russell was our pet for the parade.
Our set-up has changed since our family has grown.
A Yepp Maxi seat fits on the back for our toddler and a yepp mini on the front for his little sister means that i can take both kids by myself. A pannier holds the snacks and gear everyone needs to stay happy plus our small dog hitches a ride when it is not appropriate for her to be running wild in the streets!
Thanks to Yuba for the sweet bike that fits my unique needs very well.
It has an optional electric system that can be added – tempting!
Growing a new person is rough work and I felt terrible the whole time. I had a cold that i could not kick, I was exhausted and having a 2year old in the house did not make anything easier. But it is all over now! I have heard you forget, i can’t wait!
We are poor planners, so Liam was there. He was great, and ultimately I think it was cool that he was there when his sister was born, it seems like he has a better understanding of how it all worked.
Andrew was my hero, making sure that both Liam and I were comfortable and supported. Good on ya AP!
Welcome to the family Elda StClare
Foundation forms, ready for mud. A county inspection takes place at this point to ensure that the foundation will be solid.
Picking up sometime at Lowes
Inspection passed, mud poured. Write a check to the concrete guys and get the framers going.
Framing day one! Woo, it is fun to see the project started.
Looking like a house now! Framing done, another inspection to ensure that framing is good to go.Inspection passed, framing is solid.
Windows installed and the framers paid. Roofing finished, roofer paid.
Andrew and i did the electrical, that is also inspected to ensure that you aren’t going to burn the house down, On to insulation.
We added 450 sqft, 2 bedrooms and 3 closets. It was a simple project that has made our house so much nicer to live in. We opted to skip flooring for now and just clear coated the sub floor. it looks nice and we can always add flooring later.
Total cost just under 25k.
Kevin Bryant of Sustainable Solutions Builders has been instrumental in completing our recent building project. Even with minor hiccups here and there.
